SUMMER WALKING TOUR OF THE ISLE OF ARRAN

Below is an itinerary of what to expect during our Summer Walking Tour of Arran in July 2023. However, exact times, distances, and plans may vary depending on the groups’ ability, the weather, and other variables. Our aim is to make this a thoroughly enjoyable visit taking in as much of the surroundings as possible. We also want you to relax and enjoy the wonderful nature on the island.

DAY ONE: THURSDAY 6 JULY
The ferry departs from Ardossan Ferry Terminal, Ardrossan KA22 8ED, at 09.45h.
Arriving in Brodick at 10.40h, we will meet you at Brodick ferry port at 11.00h. The day then proceeds as follows:
Walk along coast to Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park, KA27 8HY: approx 4km.
Walk to Goatfell from Brodick Castle: approx 9km.
Climb Goatfell: 874 metres
Walk from Goatfell to Corrie: approx 5km.
Dinner and overnight stay: The Corrie Hotel, KA27 8JB
DAY TWO: FRIDAY 7 JULY
Walk from Corrie to Sannox along coastal path: approx 3km.
Sannox to Lochranza along coastal path: approx 16km.
Visit Lochranza Castle/Distillery, KA27 8HJ.
Take the bus 324 from Lochranza Pier to Blackwaterfoot: approx 40 mins
Dinner and Overnight stay at The Kinloch Hotel, Blackwaterfoot KA27 8ET.
DAY THREE: SATURDAY 8 JULY
Walk to Machrie Moor Standing Stones: approx 7km.
Walk to King’s Caves: approx 6km.
Back to Blackwaterfoot: approx 6km.
Dinner and Overnight stay at The Kinloch Hotel, Blackwaterfoot KA27 8ET.
DAY FOUR: SUNDAY 9 JULY
Catch bus 323 from Blackwaterfoot, Ferry Cottage, to Whiting Bay, Pier Craft Centre: approx 47 minutes.
Walk from Whiting Bay to Glen Ashdale Burn (waterfall): approx 3km.
Walk back to Whiting Bay and on to Lamlash: approx 11km.
Boat trip from the Old Pier, Lamlash KA27 8JN, around Holy Isle: approx 1.5 hours.
Dinner and overnight stay: The Glenisle Hotel, Lamlash.
DAY FIVE: MONDAY 10 JULY
Walk from Lamlash to Brodick: approx 6km.
Ferry from Brodick to Ardrossan.
End of event.
