Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing. A gentle, soothing, safe, and non-invasive treatment, Reiki can promote natural healing and help with relaxation, stress, and pain relief. It also has many other benefits.

How Reiki Works
The word Reiki comes from the Japanese words ‘rei’ meaning God’s wisdom or the Higher Power, and ‘ki’ meaning life energy. People have been practicing it for thousands of years.
The theory behind Reiki is that physical injury or emotional pain can cause energy to stagnate in the body. As a result, energy blocks are formed - and these blocks can cause illness. Reiki aims to remove these obstructions to improve the flow of energy around the body.
What’s Involved in a Treatment?
During a treatment, a Reiki practitioner places the palms of their hands lightly on or over specific areas of the body. They then transfer ‘universal energy’ to the person they are treating to improve the flow of life energy to encourage emotional or physical healing.
The person being treated is likely to feel a warm glow, heat, or radiance. Some people feel a tingling sensation.
Proponents of Reiki believe that improving the flow of energy in this way can promote natural healing and help with relaxation, anxiety, stress relief, symptoms of illness, and even pain. A complementary therapy, it can be used in conjunction with conventional medicine to manage troublesome symptoms, or just for relaxation.
Ashby's Adventure Trails and Treks has a new member of our team!
Stacey has been a Reiki Master since 2019 and can explain Reiki to us in simple terms.
“I act like a funnel to channel vast, pure, universal energy” Stacey explains. “My treatments help establish a more harmonised, optimal energy flow.”
The Reiki ideals
The Reiki Ideals are guidelines that help people realise that by improving themselves, they can help to heal their spirit, and can therefore enhance their healing experience. “ I help the people I treat to develop an understanding of how they can improve not only their own lives, but life everywhere” says Stacey.
Promotes Harmony and Balance
Some people find that Reiki relieves emotional stress and anxiety, and helps them cope with difficulties in their lives. Stacey explains how Reiki can aid people in emotional, mental and spiritual well-being: “ The Reiki holds the space to aid overall wellbeing for your mind, body, and soul. It is wonderfully fulfilling to deepen our connection to spiritual energy.”
Could Reiki Be Right For You?
Proponents of Reiki believe that energy healing can enhance the body's natural healing capacity, provide energy, and promote overall well-being. It can also create deep relaxation and help the body release stress and tension. Sounds good after a run, right?
